I studied the BE/ME in Electronic and Computer Engineering from 2014-2018.
Where do I work now?
I am currently working for Engineering & Refrigeration at KER Group, Donegal.
What does a typical day look like for me?
I am an Instrumentation Engineer, working mainly on the design and implementation of PLC and HMI packages for refrigeration plants used on fishing trawlers. I am also completing a postgraduate degree at Queen’s University Belfast in Business and Management.
What's my favorite UL memory?
For me it was the graduation day. Having returned to UL as a mature student, it had been a long road to reach my goal, but walking up to receive my degree ensured it was all worthwhile.
Why should you consider studying Electronic and Computer Engineering at UL?
State of the art facilities, friendly and knowledgeable faculty members always willing to lend a hand, and course structures that focus on industry relevant topics and professional development. These are all what I feel this department offers, and when combined with everything else that the UL experience has to offer, illustrate why I would highly recommend the E&CE department to anyone looking to start their career on a high.
KER Group, Donegal
The mission of the Department is the pursuit of excellence in teaching and research in the area of Information Communication Technology (ICT).
