Morgan McElligott – UL Graduate 2006

Following completion of his degree, Morgan worked with the Revenue department before joining GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) Ltd. in Shannon, Co. Clare where he had completed his cooperative work experience during his degree.

Morgan is currently working within the IT Network Services department in GECAS where he is responsible for resolution of issues faced by staff at all levels of the organisation from temporary staff to the Managing Director.

“My knowledge of computer programming and network technology was established through the coursework in the Mobile Communications and Security programme; my team work and problem solving abilities were enhanced during my co-operative education placement where I spent thirty weeks working in the IT industry. These skills have helped me in my current career path in the IT Network Services department of GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) Ltd. In Shannon, Co. Clare.”

 
 

Yue Li – UL Graduate 2005

After graduating Yue pursued his PhD at the University of Limerick in the area of “Security for Wireless Sensor Networks”. In 2009 he graduated with his PhD and he returned home to china to pursue a career in industrial research in secure sensor networks.

"Knowledge of network technology and security was established through the coursework; my team-work and problem-solving skills improved during my cooperative education placement at Intel in Shannon. This knowledge allowed me to have the confidence to complete a PhD degree where I had the opportunity to attend international conferences in Europe, USA and Australia".

 
 

Caitriona Bermingham - UL Graduate 2002

Following completion of her degree, Caitriona continued on with third level education and completed her PhD in 2006. The title of her thesis was "Skills SuperStore: An Innovative Skills Training Learning Content Management System". Caitriona then undertook a postdoctoral position where she researched the feasibility and use of mobile applications to enhance the tourism sector. In July 2008 Caitriona joined Martin Dawes Systems (MDS) in Limerick as a Software Production Engineer. MDS specialise in billing, subscriber management and business assurance solutions for the convergent communications sector.
