Robotics is an exciting area of computer-controlled technology. Robotics, Control and Software Engineering applications help in the development of many ‘high tech’ systems, such as used in space exploration, deep-ocean systems, transport, product manufactur­ing, medical equipment and entertainment systems.

Robotic engineers have available a diverse range of employment opportunities, ranging over: gaming, aircraft (auto pilot, flight control, navigation) and automotive (engine management, braking control, collision avoidance) design, industrial automation and field robotics (space, sub-sea and surgical).

 

The programme of study in Robotic Engineering includes:

§  Control - advanced control systems and digital control systems.

§  Software - software engineering, distributed and real-time software design.
