Electronic Engineers have brought us mobile phones, digital cameras, security systems, improved weather forecasting, electronic medical devices and so many other things that we now take for granted. These advances are seen in terms of the ever increasing performance and miniaturisation in areas such as medical devices, mobile communications, audio and video products, and personal computers.

All these are made possi­ble by the continuing new developments in Electronics.  This engineering stream places you at the forefront of technology with significant and diverse employment opportunities: green technology, embedded systems’ design, microelectronics, telecommunications, health, transport, energy systems and entertainment.

The programme of study in Electronic Engineering includes:

§  Circuit Design - integrated circuits (ICs), analogue circuits and digital circuits.

§  Data and Telecommunications - networks, communications and protocols.

§  Electrical Engineering - power systems, power electronics and electromagnetics.

§  Control - advanced control systems, sensors and actuators.

§  Signal Processing - signal processing and VLSI signal processing.
